What is your favourite thing about working at Green-tech and how long have you worked here?

I have been here 8 years and when I first started, I was told it would be an ‘interesting 6 months.’ 8 years on and we’re still saying the same. No two days are ever the same, its fast paced, we eat a lot, laugh a lot. It’s never boring!

What made you want to work in the landscaping industry?

I fell into it by chance. I’d never considered what went in to creating a landscaping scheme but it’s fascinating to have an insight and to see the before and after photos! The people, the products and the projects are all very special within this industry.

What is your favourite memory at Green-tech?

Oh wow! So many. From crying with laugher trying to manhandle a very heavy, very grumpy bassett hound into a car for a photo shoot, to filming our Christmas videos, especially the celebrity bush tucker trial. It’s hard to choose, but I never forget each award we win. Always a proud moment.

Where would you say is a dream holiday destination for you?

After two years of no holiday anywhere that has the sun, sea, beach and cocktails. I’ve always wanted to visit Iceland which is now booked, and I’d love to do route 66 in America.

Who is your role model or inspiration?

Tough one. I’d say it’s a mixture of family, friends and several colleagues that have inspired, motivated and encouraged me over the years.

What is your favourite landscaping show or event that you have attended?

We have a good selection and Green-tech attend most of them! They each have their place and offer exhibitors and visitors something different. We are just thankful that physical events are opening back up.

How do you like to spend your free time?

With my family and friends. I love going out to restaurants, shopping, visiting the theatre and of course, spa days and holidays! I can happily lose hours reading, gardening or binge-watching Netflix box sets!

Name 3 dream dinner guests?

Martina Cole, an author of gritty crime novels, Jon Bon Jovi so he can sing to us and Peter Kay to make us laugh.

If you were stuck on a desert island what 3 objects would you take with you?

My pillow, my phone and Bear Grylls to get us off!

Which do you prefer- Rural or urban landscapes?

I live in rural North Yorkshire, which is lush, green and beautiful but I love to see the transformation of an urban landscaping scheme – it’s always amazing to see the difference.

What is your favourite project that Green-tech have been involved in?

Not a project but an event – the BALI Awards. We have been the headline sponsor for many years and it’s a huge project for us each year. We love it, especially when it all comes together on the night, and without fail, everyone raves about it.

Who is the funniest person at Green-tech?

We have a lot of ‘characters’ at Green-tech and its hard to choose just one, but I’ll go with Glenn Brown who never fails to make me laugh and cringe at the same time!
