What is your favorite thing about working at Green-tech and how long have you worked here?
My favorite thing about working for Green-tech has got to be the industry, it doesn’t seem a very glamorous industry looking from the outside in, however, helping to create green spaces that we can all enjoy years to come you gain a real sense of job satisfaction from working on such projects, I’ve been working within the industry for the last 15 years at Green-tech I would never look back.
What made you want to work in the landscaping industry?
Pure fluke, I studied creative media productions at York College, then went travelling to Australia, when I returned to home, I got an interview at Green-tech, the rest is history!!
What is your favorite memory at Green-tech?
Ah wow, there have been so many, I’ve really seen it all after 15 years. I’ve got to say probably when we moved into our new offices at Rabbit Hill Business Park, that was a special time in Green-tech’s history I was proud to be apart of it.
Where would you say is a dream holiday destination for you?
Maldives, right? I would love to go one day.
Who is your role model or inspiration?
I don’t have any role models really, just try to do you, work hard, play hard, and enjoy the ride along the way.
What is your favourite landscaping show or event to attend or that you have attended?
Bali awards and Landscape Institute Awards in London, it gives everyone a chance to celebrate the industry by showcasing the industry’s work at the highest standard.
How do you like to spend your free time?
Catching up with friends and family for a pint or lunch especially after the last 18 months we’ve all had to endure!

If you were stuck on a desert island what 3 objects would you take with you?
lighter, knife, fishing net
Which do you prefer- Rural or urban landscapes?
Urban projects, providing Green Spaces to our grey infrastructure it really makes a huge difference to, lifestyle, property value and mental health and wellbeing and if done right looks awesome too.
What is your favorite project that Green-tech have been involved in?
Anything in my hometown York, we completed a nice project down Fossgate a few years ago where we designed and supplied everything needed for successfully planting a tree in an urban landscape setting. To finish, a contemporary cast iron tree guard and grille was installed with custom-made etching specific to York City Council.
Who is the funniest person at Green-tech?
Roger Amies-King, he’s got a very wicked personality 😊
