What is your favourite thing about working at Green-tech and how long have you worked here?
I’ve worked at Green-tech for just under 5 and a half years…my favourite things about working here are probably the amount of freedom/diversity that are afforded to me in my job role, the opportunities for progression and the people that I work with – my GT colleagues and the suppliers that I speak to.
What is your favourite memory at Green-tech?
I have so many…Team GT love a good feed so all of the charity food events that we do, the social events – the hilarious Christmas parties/bus tours plus all the associated Jägermeister shots/‘getting on the Jäger train’ and the GT photoshoot ideas that marketing come up with…I’ll be forever scarred by the ‘naked gardener’ photos. On a more serious note - working within the skeleton staff (the CoronaExtra team) during the first lockdown was certainly an eye opener – no two days were the same and we really pulled together as a team.
Where would you say is a dream holiday destination for you?
I’d love to travel around Canada…Lake Louise, Banff, Alberta, Vancouver… I also wouldn’t say no to an extended holiday in the south of France spent drinking a lot of nice wine.
Who is your role model or inspiration?
I’m fortunate that I have a fantastic relationship with my family and as cringeworthy as this sounds, they inspire me to be the best possible person that I can be. I’m also lucky to be surrounded by great friends and colleagues.
How do you like to spend your free time?
Socialising with friends, spending time with my family, reading and doing degree work.
Which do you prefer- Rural or urban landscapes?
I attended UCL which meant that I lived in central London for a while so can certainly appreciate and understand the benefits gained from greening up built-up areas however I grew up and currently live in the countryside so for me it has to be rural.
What is your favourite project that Green-tech have been involved in?
Any of the large scale tree planting jobs – GT provided a plethora of materials for Skelton Lake Services – a project which placed a great deal of importance on making sure that everything tied in with the surrounding environment and was also completed during the peak of Covid-19.
Who is the funniest person at Green-tech?
Crikey, so many of my colleagues crack me up…too many to list but special mentions to Arron Grange, Chris Swan, Dec Rayner, Mark Wood and Laura Darlow.
